Mechanical and physical properties of Aluminium can be significantly improved with the addition of several alloying elements, usually known as hardeners. In order to avoid alloying difficulties these elements can be added into the melt in form of Master Alloys, which means aluminium based alloys containing different specific hardener concentrations.

Master Alloys dissolve into the melt at a high speed, and alloying elements solution is achieved at low aluminium liquid temperatures. This turns into important advantages such as minimization of dross formation and gas pick-up, low energy consumption and longer furnace life.

For these reasons, Master Alloys represent nowadays the most convenient and economical solution for the addition of alloying elements into aluminium, in order to achieve optimal properties for the highest quality products
